[Class 100 (i).] In a machine for stretching, tentering, and drying artificial silk knitted material wherein a feeler d for adjusting the position of each chain f engages the edge of the material a, a feed roll b rotating at a definite speed and a pair of discs c for rolling out the edge of the material are situated in front of the feeler d and a tensioning roller e behind the feeler. The roller e is driven by variablespeed gearing o, p at a speed greater than that of the material.
