Abstract

353,181. Wearing surfaces for roads, floors, stairs, &c. SPICER, W. J., 77, Ladywood Road, Ladywood, Birmingham. June 14, 1930, No. 18250. [Classes 20 (iv) and 107.] Means for attaching rubber treads on stairs, rubber mats in position, or the parts of a rubber mat, floor, or road on a foundation, or for attaching rubber to solid surfaces generally, comprises an overhanging projection or projections 10, as shown in the Figure, secured to the boot or other surface to which the rubber 11 is to be attached. e.g. by spikes 8, and fitting into a recess 12 on the underside of the rubber. One or more locking strips or rods 14 are inserted in a slot or slots 13 in the face of the rubber and forced, against the resiliency of the rubber, under the projections 10.
