Abstract

501,663. Stair- - carpet fasteners. WEATHERILL, A. Sept. 3, 1937, No. 24139. [Class 52 (v)] A stair-carpet fastener comprises a bar or strip 1 secured to the stair tread behind the carpet and provided . between its longitudinal edges with carpet-gripping spikes 2 inclined rearwardly and adapted to be passed through the back of the carpet during laying so that the carpet is held into the angle of the stair. The bar is shorter than the width of the carpet and has keyhole slots 3 engaging screws 4 fixed in the tread. The spikes may be struck up as shown or welded to the strip, or the strip may be of wood with nails driven through from underneath to form the spikes. The strip may be held in eyes adjacent the edges of the carpet and according to the Provisional Specification may be fitted to the riser.
