Renewable treads. - A rubber or like tread c<3> is secured in a groove a<5> against the heel-calk a<4> by means of an attachment plate d located in a depression c<2> therein. In one arrangement (Fig. 2), the plate d is connected to the shoe by screws e, while in another arrangement (Fig. 5), the plate d is riveted to a second plate g which forms a backing for the tread and is attached by screws e.
