195,146. Martin, W. G., and North British Rubber Co., Ltd. Dec. 21, 1921. Treads and wearing-surfaces.-Rubber treads for staircases, steps, and the like comprise transverse ribs 6 of rectangular or rhomboidal section with flat upper wearing surfaces 10, which alternate with complementary rectangular, triangular, or rhomboidal grooves 11 and are connected by an integral backing 7. The upper wearing surfaces may be provided with slight grooves 12.
