Abstract

1325435 Car park buffers J BROCKHOUSE & CO Ltd 27 Oct 1970 [16 Aug 1969] 41014/69 Heading E1G [Also in Division F2] A resilient post forming a buffer for car parking areas (e.g. in multi storey buildings) comprises an upstanding spring blade 20 whose lower end is embedded in cementitious material - either in a socket, or (as shown) directly. Eaoh post may be free standing and carry a rubber shoe; alternatively several posts may carry a horizontal fender. The blade may comprise two or more spring steel strips 20, 21 connected by a bolt 24, and as shown may be shaped to provide a horizontal portion resting on an optional apertured plate 22 embedded in the material 23. One or both strips may have an integral or separate foot plate 20d. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown) a pair of straight spring strips (10, 11) seat in or pass through a round-edged slot in an embedded cast iron block (15); alternatively the slotted block (15) is replaced by a plain backing block, or by a collar extending above ground level.
