Abstract

352,534. Tents; caravans. MANNING, F. W., Woodside, Ernest Road, Hornchurch, Essex. April 10, 1930, No. 11455. [Class 20 (i).] A combined tent and trailer vehicle, of the kind in which the box-like body of the trailer houses all the tent fittings and is closed by two half-lids which, when opened out horizontally, provide two beds and also support the tent poles, has sockets at the corners of the lid flaps a<1> to receive the tubular supporting members c for the tent fabric. The corner joints of the tent frame comprise members d<1>, f assembled in the manner indicated in Fig. 4, and the members d<1> are secured to the ridge-pole e<1> by wing nuts at the ends of the pole. According to the Provisional Specification, the end frameworks of the tent may each comprise four tubular members, two of which are arranged as an inverted V to support the ridge-pole, the lower ends of the members being secured in sockets at the corners of the lid-flaps, and the other two are intermediate uprights, between the centre and sides of the tent, on which rest intermediate fabricsupporting poles parallel to the ridge-pole.
