Abstract
352,325. Charging coke ovens. GAS CHAMBERS & COKE OVENS, Ltd., Artillery House, Westminster.-(Assignees of Collin & Co. ; 14, Beurhausstrasse, Dortmund, Germany.) Sept. 25, 1930, No. 28750. Convention date, Sept. 25, 1929. [Class 51 (ii).] In connection with coke-oven charging larries or bunker-cars means are provided for preventing the escape of gases from the ovens when being charged. The larry-bunkers e are closed at the top and provided with charging openings closed by covers or slides f actuated by a rod g, and a gas collecting pipe k which can be lifted and swung is adapted to connect the end bunker with the gas uptake s communicating with the receiver n by a valve v and ejector m. The bunkers are connected together by pipes, and pipes j lead from the discharge funnels b to the space in the bunkers above the charge. The discharge funnels bare provided with vertically movable hoods h adapted to be lowered on to the charging openings o of the ovens and operated by rods c, d. At the bottom the bunkers have closing slides i the operating rods of which may be interconnected with the rods g, c, d so that the slides are opened after the hoods h have been lowered and the covers f closed. The bunkers may be connected to a separate gas exhausting device.
