Abstract
352,227. Oil engines. POPPE, P. A., Logna, Warwick Avenue, Coventry, and DENNIS BROS., Ltd., Woodbridge Works, Guildford, Surrey. June 26, 1930, No. 19440. [Classes 7 (iii) and 7 (vi).] In a compression-ignition engine having a compression ratio of about 16 to 1 and a water-cooled Venturi-shaped ante-chamber 8 into which fuel is injected by a nozzle 6, e.g. as described in Specifications 265,903,270,673, [both in Class 7 (iii), Internalcombustion engines, Carburetting-apparatus &c. for], air is admitted by a valve 9 in addition to the usual supply by a valve 5. The ante-chamber is in two parts 10, 11 so that the valve 9 may be assembled. Specification 276,952, [Class 7 (iii), Internal-combustion engines Carburetting-apparatus &c. for], is also referred to. Valve gear.-The two air valves 5, 9 are opened simultaneously from a single cam by a connecting rocker 12.
