Abstract

351,917. Spray carburetters. SOC. ANON. SOLEX, 190, Avenue de Neuilly, Neuilly-sur- Seine, France. Dec. 24, 1929, No. 39395. Convention date, Jan. 19. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 7 (iii).] In a carburetter of the type in which the carburetting liquid is supplied by a pump 3 to a chamber 5 in which a constant level is maintained by an overflow pipe 9, the pump 3 draws the liquid from a chamber 14 which is arranged between a chamber 16 connected to the liquid reservoir 1 and a chamber 12 at the bottom of the overflow pipe 9, the connections between the chambers 12, 14, 16 being controlled by two valves 18, 19 connected by a needle 20 to a float 13 in the chamber 12. The position of the float determines whether liquid is drawn by the pump from the overflow pipe 9 or the reservoir 1. The liquid passes from the chamber 5 through a nozzle or nozzles 7 into an induction tube 6. A known form of carburetter in which the liquid can flow when above a predetermined level from the overflow pipe 9 to the reservoir 1 and the pump 3 is connected by separate pipes to the bottom of the overflow pipe and the reservoir is described.
