351,754. Sewing-machines. FAIRWEATHER, W., 65, Chancery Lane, London.-(Singer Manufacturing Co.; Elizabeth, New Jersey, U.S.A.) July 9, 1930, No. 20767. [Class 112.] Governing needlethread. - An upper thread tensioning device comprises a stem 10 with a one-piece nut 24 between wlich and the tension spring 20 is a washer 21 provided with a key and keyway to slide on the stem without rotation. The thread is held frictionally between the usual dished plates 13, 14, the degree of friction being regulated by the spring 20 which is compressed by screwing the milled nut 24 on the stem 10. The flanged part 25 of the nut may be graduated to indicate tension.
