607,452. Sewing-machines. MEFINA SOC. ANON. Feb. 5, 1946, No. 3571. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1945. [Class 112] The throat plate 5 is secured to a sewing machine by one or more spring rings 4 each carried by a screw 1 secured to the machine frame, and each ring co-operating with an annular ridge a in a hole 11 of the throat plate to press the plate into engagement with the faceplate 2. To assist in removal a slot is provided in the throat plate. In modifications the ring is mounted on the throat plate in a groove in the hole and co-operates with a groove or shoulder on the screw.
