283,405. Fairweather, W., (Singer Manufacturing Co.). June 2, 1927. Governing needle thread. - In a lock-stitch machine having a rotary take-up comprising spaced discs 17 provided with a take-up pin 19 and a slack-thread controlling pin 20, the thread is directed to the take-up by an elongated aperture 25 in a bracket 26. The thread thus passes to the take-up pin at substantially different levels at the beginning and ending of each loop drawing-up movement. The slot 25 is positioned to direct the thread at a substantial angle to the direction of its lead from the tension device.
