[Class 146 (iii).] In a reservoir pen according to the parent Specification, the button, by which the inner mechanism is projected to writing or filling position, is connected to an arcshaped part adapted to be locked between the barrel and inner mechanism for holding the nib in writing position. The pen comprises an outer casing 7 provided with a hinged cover 9 and in which the member 1, carrying the nib 2, sac 3, and sacactuating mechanism 4, 5, 6, is slidable. The casing is formed with a slot 10 in which the stem of a button 11 is slidable, the stem being connected inside the casing to an arcshaped part 20 mounted for transverse but not longitudinal movement in a groove in a sleeve 21. The sleeve 21 is provided with a tooth 24 slidable in the slot 10, and with a tooth 22 slidable in a groove 23 in the member 1, the groove 23 terminating at the front end in a transverse groove 27 provided with a bottom sloping upwardly from the groove 23. The slot 10 terminates at the front end in two diverging branches into either of which the stem of the button 11 can be directed. If the button 11 be directed into the right-hand branch, a projection 201 on the part 20 engages with the bottom of the groove 27 in order to hold the nib in writing position. If the button 11 be directed into the left-hand branch, the projection 20<1> is moved into register with the groove 23 so that the member 1 and its associated parts can be withdrawn from the barrel.
