Abstract
350,865. Collapsable tubes. ROUND, H., 141, Great Charles Street, and HEWITT, J. H., 60, Farquhar Road, Edgbaston, both in Birmingham. Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31083. [Class 11.] In a container for collapsable tubes, formed of two or more parts, the contents are extruded by a roller 8, Fig. 1, operated through a slot 7 in the container 1, through which the knurled edge of the roller projects. The roller may be cylindrical or the cross section of its rim may be curved as shown in Fig. 13, in which case, the curved part 50 is shaped to correspond with a longitudinal channel 52 in the side of the casing 51. Further, the roller may be mounted upon a guide-plate or pin, having projecting portions at its ends, which engage projections upon the longitudinal edges of the casing, and the slot in the casing may be formed with inwardly turned edges 10, engaging grooves in the roller. Various forms of container are described, consisting of two or more parts hingedly and detachably connected together. The neck of the container may be screw-threaded to engage the threaded nozzle of the tube or a spring cap may be provided for closing the open end. By making the container relatively wider and employing two or more rollers disposed side by side, a plurality of tubes may be discharged simultaneously.
