Abstract

221,715. Watson, O. H. Dec. 21, 1923. Piston apparatus for discharging receptacles. - A combined carton and grease gun comprises a container 1 closed at the ends by caps 5, 6 and supporting, under the cap 5 a spider 14 carrying a nut 16 engaging a screwed rod 18 which passes freely through a hole in the piston 22. When the grease is to be expelled, the cap 5 is removed, the rod 18 is withdrawn, and a pivoted member 27 on the piston is moved so that its perforation 29 registers with tile hole 26. The shoulder on the rod 18 at the end of the screw-thread engages the member 27 so that, when it is turned in the nut 16, the piston is moved forward and expels the grease through the nozzle 8.
