Abstract

350,694. Road-traffic s i g n a l s on vehicles. FRYMAN, H. K. W. and FRYMAN, H., 264, Stanley Street, Grimsby. May 22, 1930, No. 15723. [Class 118 (ii).] Manoeuvre signalling apparatus for use on vehicles and airplanes comprises front and rear casings containing a number of lamps 21 located behind coloured lenses or prismatic glass members 14, and adapted to be selectively illuminated to form arrows pointing to right or left, or up or down, or to form two such arrows simultaneously. A preliminary audible signal is given before each visible signal. The lowermost lamp 13f may be used as a rear lamp and may illuminate the numberplate. The switch mechanism comprises four pushbutton switches for the arrow signals having each a sliding spindle 29 guided by a tubular member 30 which is slotted to receive a pin 32 carried by the spindle 29. By depressing the button sufficiently to disengage the pin 32 from the slot, the spindle may be rotated to lock the button in the operative position. Each button is adapted when depressed to close a contact for a preliminary audible signal. A fifth push-button switch is provided for the rear-lamp device 13f. A rotatable switch is operated by the vehicle brakes to give a warning signal.
