Abstract

308,923. Clinton, C. H., and Baxter, J. May 29, 1923. Road-traffic signals on vehicles.- Manoeuvre-signalling devices for use on road vehicles comprise a rear casing 1, Fig. 2, displaying by selective interior illumination the signals 8, 10 and the number plate 2, and a front casing 11, Fig. 3, displaying also by selective illumination the desired arrow 10<a>. The lamps 7<a>, 9<a>, 7<b>, 9<b>, for the rear and front arrows are selectively illuminated manually by switches 7<c>, 9<c> and automatically by a contact 14 operated by the steering- gear 15. The brake may be used to close contacts 25 for the stop signal. A separate switch 3a operates the lamp 3 for the number plate. Tell-tale lamps 23 are provided on the dashboard.
