Abstract

348,471. Cooling lubricant. WOLSELEY MOTORS (1927), Ltd. and TOWLER, C. O., Drews Lane, Ward End, Birmingham. July 25, 1930, No. 22422. [Class 12 (iii).] Annular chambers 2, 3 separated by a common wall 4 surround the crank shaft of an internal-combustion engine. The outer ends of the chambers are closed by a cover-plate .5 to the lower part of which a casing 6 is fixed by a stud 11. Combustible mixture passes through a pipe 7, the chamber 3, and a pipe 8 to the engine cylinders, and is heated by the lubricating oil, which circulates through the passages 9, 11, 2, 14 and which is thereby cooled.
