Abstract
348,470. Mould materials. I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE AKT.-GES., Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. July 24, 1930, No. 22383. Convention date, Aug. 10, 1929. [Class 83 (i).] In casting magnesium or its alloys in a chill or permanent mould lined with boric acid, this is mixed with a metallic oxide, chalk, magnesium chloride, or graphite. A powder consisting of equal parts of magnesia usta and boric acid with or without magnesium chloride, or of graphite or ferric oxide and boric acid may be dusted on or applied in aqueous or alcoholic solution.
