Abstract

A coating for metal moulds comprises a finely divided refractory such as silica, zircon or magnesite flour, a lubricant such as graphite or molybdite, a liquid medium in which these ingredients are suspended such as water or aqueous alcohol, and as a binder mono-aluminium orthophosphate.
