Abstract
347,910. Electromagnets; relays. DUNLOP, S., 49, Chancery Lane, London.- (Fuld & Co., Telephon-und Telegraphenwerke Akt.-Ges. H. ; 136, Mainzerlandsttasse, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany.) May 21, 1930, No. 15663. [Class 35.] In an electromagnet having the coil supported on an iron or copper carrier which may be slid upon the core, the coil flanges are extended to act as supports for the electromagnet in such a way as to prevent fouling of the armature, which projects beyond the axis of the coil, when it is mounted on its supporting surface. In the form shown, a relay coil has a rectangular copper carrier 2 which fits over the core members 5<1>, 9 and has its ends upturned to secure the flanges 3, 4 between the shoulders 2<1>, 2<11>. The flanges are extended to prevent the armature 6 from coming into contact with the support on which the edges 7, 7<1> rest. A recess 10 may be provided in the edge 71 for the passage of the winding ends which are attached to the terminals 8. In the case of quick-acting relays, the tube 2 is of iron.
