Abstract
663,680. Transformers and inductors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and VIVIAN, G. E. Sept. 22, 1950 [Sept. 30, 1949], No. 25185/49. Class 38 (ii). A plug or rivet 4 fitted into opposed recesses 5 formed in the air-gap walls prevents relative lamination movement and reduces noise in a transformer or reactor core of the kind comprising a rectangular yoke 1 from one side of which an integral central limb 2 extends to near the other side, as is used in conjunction with discharge lamps. The member 4 may be of fibre or non-magnetic metal, hollow or solid. If of metal it is preferably of tubular form and has its end peened over the outermost laminations.
