Abstract

347,762. Road-traffic signals on vehicles. BROMWICH, W. B., 6, Oliver Street, South Bank, Yorkshire. Feb. 4, 1930, No. 3815. [Class 118 (ii).] Manoeuvre-signalling apparatus for road vehicles comprises compartmented casings 10, 11 for the front and rear respectively, the casing 10 carrying selectively illuminated signs 12, 13, 14 of different colours to indicate " ahead," " right " and "left," while the rear casing 11 carries selectively illuminated signs 15 .. 20 of distinctive colours to indicate " straight ahead," " right," " left," " stop," " caution," and " overtake " respectively. Switch arms 37, 38 control the sign lamps, corres-- ponding front and rear signs being connected in parallel series, the control being such that a caution or slow-down signal may be given simultaneously with a straight ahead, right, or left turning signal. The shapes of the signs may be varied.
