Abstract
387,994. Road-traffic signals on vehicles. INIGUEZ, A. WITTIG-, 50, Rue Carnot, Levallois-Perret, Seine, France. May 9, 1931, No. 13768. Convention date, May 9, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Classes 40 (i) and 118 (ii).] A compartmented casing 5 for use on road vehicles comprises two units bolted together at 31, the upper unit displaying the registration number A and supporting a rear and parking lamp 14, while the lower unit displays " stop and direction signals B, C, D when the corresponding lamp 19, 20, 21 is illuminated. In addition to the white lamp 12 for the sign A, there is provided in the same compartment a red lamp 13 which is lighted in place of the lamp 12 at the moment of stopping or changing direction. The signals may be operated by hand, by the brake, or by the steering-gear, and a tell-tale lamp informs the driver each time a signal is given. Fig. 5 shows a construction of the panel A, which is constituted by a translucent sheet 28 pressed into the stencilled parts of an opaque sheet 29.
