Abstract

386,792. Road-traffic signals on vehicles. KUKSIN, A. V. DE, 31, Anadolu Sokak, Pera- Istanbul, Turkey. Jan. 16, 1932, No. 1353. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 4, 1932.] [Class 118 (ii).] The registration number S of a motor vehicle and the direction-signalling arrows P, P<1> are arranged as shown on one transparent plate illuminated from behind by lamps 1, 2, 3 controlled by separate switches 31, 30, 32. Reflectors 4, 5 are provided. Additional signal or tell-tale lamps 48, 49 on the front mudguards are selectively lighted together with the corresponding arrow P, P<1> by the same switches 30, 32. A similar plate S<1> with lamps 1<1>, 21, 31 is mounted at the rear of the vehicle. In a modification, the white lamp behind the number plate is cut out and a red lamp in the same compartment is automatically lighted to indicate " stop '' when the brake is applied. A hand switch may keep the red lamp alight to indicate a lengthy stop or that the car is free to take up fares.
