Abstract

An indicator for fixing to a motor vehicle to signal to other road users the driver's intention to travel in a forward direction. The indicator 1 is placed at the centre of the car at both the front and the rear. The operation of the indicators will be incorporated into the indicator stick.

Description

<p>Patent Specification -Forward indicator</p>
<p>This invention will enable the motorist to indicate their intention to travel in a forward direction.</p>
<p>When stationary at a crossroads with the intention of driving straight ahead there is no way of indicating your direction of travel to other motorists. Currently it has to be taken for granted that the lack of a right or left indicator means the motorist will be travelling straight on. This uncertainty is at best causing delays and at worst causing accidents.</p>
<p>A further use of this invention would be at a roundabout where the motorist is able to indicate their intention to travel straight over.</p>
<p>An additional car indicator placed at the centre of the car to be used to indicate travelling forward.</p>
<p>The primary advantage of the forward indicator is that of increased safety for motorist, passengers, cyclists and pedestrians. Given the knowledge of the intention of the fellow motorist empowers the driver to proceed with more certainty. At a crossroads crossing a fast moving main road would become a safer operation.</p>
<p>An example of the forward indicator will now be described by reférénce toihe accompanying drawings: Figure 1 -The Front Figure 2-The Back 2.</p>
<p>A front indicator 1 is incorporated onto a motor vehicle as illustrated in Figure 1.</p>
<p>A back indicator us incorporated onto a motor vehicle as illustrated in Figure 2.</p>
<p>The operation of the indicators will be incorporated into the current indicator stick. Up to indicate left, down for right and now pushed forwards for forwards. 3.</p>

Claims (1)

  1. <p>Claims 1. An indicator for a motorised vehicle to signal travel in a
    forwardly direction.</p>
    <p>2. A forward positioned indicator according to claim 1, to indicate the intention to travel forward in a motorised vehicle.</p>
    <p>3. A back positioned indicator according to claim 1, to indicate the intention to travel forward in a motorised vehicle.</p>
