[Class 79 (iii).] Runways for use in stowing motor vehicle chassis, partly superimposed one on another in restricted spaces such as in ships, comprise separate parts a, b which may be connected together and are supported at the point where the parts adjoin or abut on the rear wheels of the preceding vehicle, the forward end of the horizontal part b being supported on a lifting device such as a jack c. The runways are adapted to be removed as each superposed chassis in turn is positioned and chocked up at its forward end by a support F. Each part a, b may be of wood or sheet steel and may be provided with lugs adapted closely to fit the wheel tyres, or with a U-shaped loop to embrace the wheel rim, the parts preferably being detachably connected to form a continuous trackway.
