Abstract

346,541. Drying during suspension in gaseous currents. ROSIN, P., 86, Bautznerstrasse, Dresden, Germany. March 7, 1930, No. 7551. Convention date, March 9, 1929. [Class 34 (ii).] Coal &c. in a finely-divided condition is dried in the cool part of a current of flue gas, separated therefrom, and heated in the hot part of the current. The coal is fed through an air-lock o into the cool part of the gas current passing through the ducts f, g and is carried to a sifter h from which the dried coal is carried to a cyclone separator l, while the damp coal passes through a duct i to a rotary disintegrator k from which it returns to the duct g. From the separator l the dried coal passes through a duct q into the hot part of the gas current and is carried through the pipe system b, c, d to a cyclone separator e. The flue gas passes from the separator e to the duct f in which it entrains moist coal and the heated coal is discharged to a conveyer d. Specification 310,358, [Class 34 (ii), Drying systems &c.], is referred to.
