Abstract

Mills of unspecified type combined with screening, sorting, and other apparatus.- The material to be dried is carried by hot gases through pipes to a separator m from which the larger particles are led through a pipe n to a mill o from which they are returned to the hot gas current. The material is fed by a worm conveyor e through a centrifugal machine d into the current of hot gases from the furnace a and carried through a pipe g to a pipe h of larger diameter where the direction of flow is reversed. The separated material may be returned to the pipe l or be passed through the mill together and be admitted at b. The wet material may be admitted above a construction in the pipe. The fine, dry material is delivered by a fan q to a cyclone separator r from which it passes to a cooler t and oscillating grading-sieve u.
