Abstract
346,477. Signs. QUINN, H. O., 151, Fleet Street, London. Jan. 21, 1930, No. 2079. [Class 3 (ii).] A sign comprises a hoarding 9 supported from the ground by posts 11 and provided with openings 14 in the form of letters or other characters, preferably backed by a translucent sheet which may be removably supported and formed of coloured or prismatic glass. If desired the board 9 tself may be coloured or translucent, and may carry additional advertising matter. An aperture 18 may be provided for the reception of an interchangeable board 20 also carrying cut-out characters and supported in guides at the rear of the board 9. A number of inclined reflectors may be provided behind the cut-out letters, or a single' reflector, vertical or inclined, may be employed; in the latter case, two boards such as 9 may be mounted back to back in a suitable frame, a space being left between them in which a single vertical reflector or two inclined reflectors are located, light being admitted through the open top of the frame or provided by electric lamps. The whole device may be of curved formation instead of flat.
