[Class 60.] In grinding the surfaces of onepiece bifocal lenses or other work pieces of compound configuration, the work C is mounted on a rotary holder B and is shaped by a grinding wheel A on a spindle mounted at right angles to the work axis. The wheel may be shaped to produce convex or concave surfaces with concentric portions of different curvatures; or, as shown, the surfaces formed may be partly flat and partly curved.
