Abstract

A floor covering is made by vulcanizing a mixture of cork powder, rubber, zinc oxide, and paraffin wax. Fillers and colouring matter may be added if desired. A suitable mix is 4 parts by weight of rubber, 12 of cork powder, 1 of sulphur, 2 of zinc oxide, 1 of whiting, 2 of french chalk, and 2 of paraffin wax.
