Abstract
Floor coverings and the like consist of a dry mixture of caoutchouc containing 15 to 35 per cent of sulphur with which is mixed cork cuttings to an amount of 50 to 85 per cent of the whole mass, with the optional addition of colouring, or filling materials, the mass after moulding being vulcanized under high pressure and cooled under pressure. It is stated that the suberin in the cork prevents over-vulcanization and also ageing.
