Abstract

343,857. Centrifugal pumps. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHœTTE OBERHAUSEN, AKT.-GES., Oberhausen, Rhineland, Germany. June 18, 1930, No. 18591. Convention date, June 19, 1929. [Class 110 (i).] A suction inlet valve comprises a ported cylindrical member 12 which is carried by a support 3 mounted to rotate on the shaft of the compresser. The valve is operated by a differential piston the smaller surface of which is always loaded while the larger can be loaded or relieved by a three-way cock 15. Baffles are provided on each side of the member 12 to form fluid channels which narrow until reaching member 12 and then open out again in streamline form.
