Abstract

343,669. Fastenings. LENIEF, A., 39, Rue de Moscow, Paris. Dec. 31, 1929, No. 39814. [Class 44.] A fastening device for securing socks &c. to suspenders, fastening straps, handbags, &c., comprises a headed stud 6 passed through an aperture 5 in a cooperating fastening member 1 and there held by pivoted jaws 4 engaging under the head. Member 1 has a cup 2 housing the jaws 4 pivoted at 3, and provided with a cover-plate 10 rotatably mounted thereon by lugs secured to the cover by screws 14 and engaging in an external peripheral groove in the cup. Plate 10 carries pins 11 with rollers 12 thereon adapted to co-operate with the outer edges 13 of the jaws 4. When the cover-plate is rotated in clockwise direction, Fig. 1, the rollers engage near the free ends of the jaws which are thereby closed to grip the stud. Shoulders 12<1> are provided to prevent accidental release. When the cover is rotated in the opposite direction the rollers engage shoulders 4<1> on the jaws and open the jaws to release the stud. When applied to sock &c. suspenders the member 1 is formed with an integral loop 9 to which is secured a suspender part 8 carrying the plate 7 to which stud 6 is secured. The stocking &c. edge is placed over the stud before insertion in aperture 5.
