Abstract
343,411. Gas producers. BELLAY, J., 98, Avenue d'Auderghem, Brussels. June 13, 1930, No. 18164. Convention date, June 25, 1929. [Class 55 (i).] In a gas producer for use with internal combustion engines, the air-steam mixture is supplied through a conduit 20 and admitted above the grate 4, so as to provide a semi - down draught, the gases being withdrawn from a chamber 12 through a space 9 extending across the width of the producer, and outlet pipe 17. Air enters a chamber 13 and passes through tubes 15 in which it is heated, to a space 16 in which steam is generated by supplying water from a pipe 21 to the upper surface of the chamber 16, baffles 18 distributing the water on this surface. An igniting door 22 is provided and a hopper 3 is mounted on the shell 1.
