Abstract
<PICT:0342942/III/1> In crystallizing salts such as ammonium sulphate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride and the like from solution by evaporation in a calandria-type evaporator 1, small crystals which escape from the main circulation 3 are returned by a secondary circulation 4 through a pipe 5 in which is inserted a pump 6. Fully grown crystals are removed through a valve 7. Mechanical means may be provided for keeping the heating surfaces free from incrustation, baffles may be provided to assist the circulation, and the pump circulation may be replaced by thermo-circulation.
