Abstract
341,331. Electric incandescent lamps. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN, 13A, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland. March 10,'1930, No. 7791. Convention date, March 23, 1929. [Class 39 (ii).] A device for mechanically passing leading-in wires through the holes of caps of electric incandescent lamps or electric discharge tubes comprises holders, 12, 13, Fig. 1, for the bulb 10 and cap 11 respectively, and at least one member 14 adapted to be moved relatively to the holders and provided with one or more guides for bringing the leading-in wire or wires 16 to the holes in the cap. The bulb-holder 12 is actuated by a reciprocating rod 20 and is provided with lugs or cam surfaces 21, 22 which co-operate with rollers 23, 24 at one end of bell cranks 25, 26, the other ends of the bell cranks being engaged within recesses 30, 31 in the capholder 13 and member 14 respectively. In the initial position of the apparatus the bulb is so arranged that the leading-in wires 16 are in contact with guides or grooves 15, Fig. 2, in the member 14, whereupon the bulb is moved to the right and, through the bell crank 26, imparts to the capholder 13 a movement to the left. The member 14 remains in contact with the leading-in wires 16 until they pass through the holes in the cap, and is then lowered out of the way to enable the bulb and cap to be brought into close contact. The grooves 15 may be conical, as shown, or cylindrical, and their number and position may be varied according to the number of leading-in wires.
