Abstract
276,729. Dawson, W. May 31, 1326. Multiple-filament lamps.-The filaments of a multi-filament lamp are connected to a set of blocks arranged in the arc of a circle in a sleeve interposed between the ordinary cap and the bulb and containing means for making contact with the block required. Fig. 1 shows a lamp in which the sleeve B can be rotated on the cap A to bring the block required under a spring contact-arm h connected to an ordinary contact b on the cap. The blocks k are grooved radially to engage the arm h. The common return wire d of the filaments will bend sufficiently to allow of the motion required, or it may be connected with the contact c by a spring contact arm and plate. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the blocks are provided with springs M which can be forced into contact with a plate F by a screw or plug passing through holes in the sleeve B.
