Abstract

341,149. Filling bottles, &c. HUTCHIN, S., 23, Glenville Avenue, Giffnock, and BLAIR, D. A., 132, Roxburgh Circus, Cardonald, both in Glasgow. Oct. 28, 1929, No. 32640. [Class 125 (ii).] Relates to bottle and like filling heads of the type wherein by the movement of the bottle &c. there are operated in succession two valves, one controlling vacuum pressure, or counter pressure, and the other controlling the supply of material. The bottle &c., in rising, surrounds tubes 11, 12 and presses against a resilient packing 18, moving a spring-urged valve 2 upwardly to connect port 3 with spaces 14 and 13 and so evacuate &c. the bottle &c. On still further upward movement, the valve 2, after traversing the space 17, for lost motion, lifts a spring-urged valve 5 so that material is sucked &c. into the bottle &c. A set-screw 20 engaging a space 21 prevents rotation of the valve 2. Specifications 23434/93, 8806/05, 12598/07, [all in Class 125, Stoppering &c.], 2083/14, 20237/14, and 186,614, [all in Class 125 (iii), Stoppers &c.], are referred to.
