In the filling head for rotary counterpressure bottling machines described in Specification 732,240, the push rods 10, 20 for the liquid and counterpressure valves are depressed in sequence by a piston 30, the actuating fluid for which is controlled by a piston valve 33, Fig. 4, plan view operated by stationary cams around the machine. The piston is raised to inoperative position by a . spring 32.
