[Class 135.] Lift valves ; actuating- mechanism.-A camactuated stop valve for compressed air, steam, water, gas, and especially pneumatic tools comprises a cam in the form of a thick disc d which fits the cylindrical bore of the housing a and is flattened symmetrically on opposite sides so that the flattened part of the disc acts as a cam to lift the spring-closed valve h, p, when the lever o is rotated a quarter of a revolution. The spindle m carries two guide discs k which fit the bore of the housing, the spindle packing q being retained in a stuffing-box n against one of the discs k.
