Abstract
323,728. Davies, L. G. Oct. 6, 1928. Stoppering.-In a machine in which a capsule is secured whilst the mouth of the container is within a vacuum chamber, the containers are received on a table 47 rotated from a shaft 7. The bottle-holders 41 are raised by a cam 40, and a cam 20 then lifts a rod 18 connected by linkage to close pivoted rubber-faced jaws about the neck of the container. The cam 40 then lifts further the bottle-holder 41, and the neck of the container flexes the jaws to close the underside of the capsuling head 8. Vacuum from a pipe 12<a> is distributed by a rotary valve 11, and pipes 10, to the appropriate heads, and the capsuling is effected under vacuum. A cam 24 through a rod 28 actuates the head. In a modification, a container is held on a bottle holder by vacuum. Specification 295,606 is referred to.
