Abstract

Capsules, applying.-In a machine for applying capsules to bottles by spinning, a fixed rod e supports a resiliently mounted presser head g about which is rotated a gear h carrying tools p. The tools are moved upon the capsule by a cam member r, and the gear h is rotated from a handle m. The bottle is positioned on a table u and depression of a treadle x raises the bottle against the head g. The tools on pivoted arms o are moved upon the capsule as the arms traverse the cone secured to the rod e, and the arms are rotated to deform the margin of the capsule by operation of the handle m. The machine may be used as a hand device by detaching the rod e from the bracket d.
