Abstract
478,179. Applying capsules to bottles. EBBEDAL, N. J. O. J. June 29, 1937, No. 18087. Convention date, July 9, 1936. [Class 125 (ii)] An apparatus of the type comprising a resilient sealing element for applying caps to bottles, has a resilient gripping block 1 of considerable thickness compared with its superficial area. A cylindrical recess 4 receives the bottle neck with the cap supported thereon. The block 1 is held in a rigid holder 2, 3 and can arch freely when compressing a cap on a rising bottle. In a modification, a central flange is provided for holding the capsule in position before compression is applied.
