Abstract

340,691. Cleaning and polishing boots &c. OGLE, N., 96, Piccadilly, London. Nov. 6, 1929, No. 33736. [Class 138 (i).] A device for holding boots and shoes for cleaning and polishing purposes comprises a sole supporting member 16 having upstanding converging flanges 17 to engage the sole and hold it against longitudinal and lateral movement. This support 16 is pivotally attached by a screw 18 to a longitudinal rod 19 slidably mounted on a base board 10. Stops 20 prevent undue rotational movement of the member 16. The other end of the rod 19 passes through and is slidably mounted in a channel 21 formed in a belt block 11 and is adjustably secured by a thumb screw 22. The block 11 is pivotally mounted in respect to the baseboard 10 which has a circular opening 12 through which passes a cylindrical plug 13. The top surface of the block 11 has a V-shaped abutment 15 to form a hub support. The device is set by adjusting the thumb screw 22.
