Abstract

Wireless tuning - a.pparatus, adjustment devices for. - A friction vernier adjustment device for wireless apparatus &c. comprises a pivotally mounted arm carrying towards one end a rotatable roller or disc and spring means for moving the arm about its pivot to bias the friction member into contact. In one form, Fig. 1, a plate arm 1 has its ends bent to form sockets 2, 3, the socket 2 being pivotally mounted on a pin 4, and the socket 3 carrying a friction roller 13 rotatable by the vernier knob 12. A spring 8 in the socket 2 is secured at 9 to the pin 4 and also bears in a slot 10 in the bent arm 1. In another form, Fig. 3, the arm 1 is of moulded composition and the pin 4 is carried on an arm 16 secured to the bush of the instrument's main spindle. In this form the spring 8 bears at one end on a groove 10 in the moulded arm. In other modifications, the arm 1 may be forked and positioned on the pin 4 by a spring clip which may form an indicator. The vernier knob may be provided with holes to be engaged by an anti-capacity handle. The spring 8 may be mounted around the pin 4 between the arm 1 and panel 7, or around a depending portion of the arm 1, and it may comprise the means for keeping the arm on the pin. The arm 1 mav be mounted in a bushed hole in the panel with the spring located under the panel.
