Abstract

295,141. Lea, R. H. Sept. 6, 1927. Trees.-A tree for holding boots or shoes for cleaning, of the kind consisting of two members relatevely adjustable by means of a screw, comprises a fixed member b having a heel-engaging portion b<1>, and lever a pivoted to the member b at a<1> and pivotally carrying a toe-engaging member a<2>. The tree is expanded on the boot by means of a screw c and wing-nut d acting against a spring e. The member b is secured to the front of a cabinet f secured to a wall or the like and formed with shelves and compartments for holding brushes, polish, &c. The screw c passes freely through the member b and is pivoted to a metal plate secured in the cabinet. When not in use, the toe piece a<2> may be turned up out of the way and retained by an arm of the nut d. The toe piece is suitable for right and left boots, and may be interchangeable for different sizes of boots. In a modification, the tree is secured to a wall bracket, the cabinet being omitted.
