Abstract
315,616. James, R. W., (Schulse. Inc., H. E.). Sept. 6, 1928. Trees and stretches for.-A tree for supporting shoes &c. during cleaning or when making small repairs or threading laces comprises an arched arm 10 adapted to be secured in a wall bracket 11 or other support at one end and provided at the other end with a member 12 adapted to fit into the toe of the shoe &c. A lever 14, carrying at its lower end a member 16 shaped to the shoe &c. counter, is pivoted to the arm 10 so as to swing the member 16 gravitationally towards the rear to take up its position in the heel of a shoe of average size, and is secured in adjusted position by a screw 18 clamping the member 14. An adaptor 13 may be detachably connected with the toe member 12 to adapt the device for shoes of different average size, e.g., for men's shoes as well as for ladies' shoes. The arm 10 projects from a plate member having tapering sides with undercut edges, which engage correspondingly formed parts on a wall plate or bracket 11. The parts 10, 11 and 14 are formed as light castings.
